Week 2 First evaluation of the Carousel

1. Evidence of me taking part: (Pictures, Diary entries, Printouts ETC) U1.1.2

2. Write up your experience of the following...
2a Discuss any research that you carried out in these sessions: U2.1.1,

Now list Primary and Secondary sources U2.2.1

Primary: We experimented natural props to create different sound effects for a scary movie, we were given the genre: crime and had to make any short film about that, and we also did some drawing of any object provided with different tools.

Secondary:  We looked at previous students work and sharing knowledge with other students.

2b Discuss any skills that you have tried: U2.1.1
We tried mono printing, post production of a short film based on the genre crime, recording sound effects, made sound effects based on a scary movie, recording a short film based on the genre crime and different drawing skills with different techniques.

2c Discuss any processes and methods you used (Photography wet process, Screen Printing, Photoshop layering etc): U1.1.1

What is your understanding of these?:
      Processes
we sketched a drawing using different materials using different techniques, using this drawing i had to produce a copy by using oil based ink and tracing the image
      Methods
i used a pencil, a pen, a marker pen, a coloured pencil and water for my drawing to create different techniques. also i used an a4 paper, tape, an image, a roller, glass tray and oil based ink to create the mono print.
2d Discuss the tools that you used (Paint, Material, Software, etc): U2 3.1 We used a pen, paper, pencils, water, oil based ink, a roller, glass tray, an object, a fineliner pen,an apron and gloves.

      Evaluated them

How effective were you with this tool?
During the sketching i felt that the finliner pen was the most effective because i found it easier to draw with because it flows easier than the biro pen or pencil, also i felt that the water wasn't very effective because i felt like it ruined the image a bit. During the mono printing the oil based ink was more effective when you use a tiny blob of it than too much because it would go too dark and smudgy.
      How could this be improved?
This could be improved by maybe sketching in different positions like standing up as it could flow easier and i could've had a better view of the object. i could have improved my mono prints by shading the images more effectively and creating different tones within the print.
